Reconstitution
The laboratory step of dissolving a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder in a suitable diluent.
Reconstitution describes dissolving a freeze-dried solid in a defined volume of diluent so that the resulting solution has a known concentration. The relationship is arithmetic: quantity in the container divided by the volume of diluent added gives the concentration. This platform describes reconstitution only as a documentation and calculation concept; it publishes no preparation, dosing or administration instructions.
