Bioregulator
A short peptide studied as a possible participant in the regulation of tissue-specific gene expression.
The term bioregulator is used in the research literature for very short peptides — often two to four amino acids — that are investigated for a possible role in the regulation of tissue-specific gene expression and cellular activity. Much of the published work originates from a limited number of research groups, so claims are reported here as source claims rather than as established scientific consensus.
